No, I am not holding another raffle, but instead am writing about a raffle the Beatles entered. I found this in a Southerby's auction catalog from 1996. The photo was small, so it isn't the best quality, but I don't recall ever reading about this, so I though it was neat.
On December 3, 1963, backstage before a show in Portsmouth, the Beatles entered a contest. With blue ballpoint pens, they wrote their guesses as to how far a car would run on a gallon of petrol. From what I can tell, Ringo wrote in "30." They are seen here with the vendor for the Glasgow Student's Charity filling out the tickets. I would guess that none of the Beatles were winners.
